12 December 2012 Sheffield Businesses are Benefiting from Free Specialist Workshops
In a tough climate, finding new ways to grow is a priority for business – especially when there is less spare cash to invest. A lot of small businesses want to be able to help themselves, not depend on external support. That’s why the Digital Direction workshops were set up to and they’ve been proving increasingly popular.

Busy mum and entrepreneur Kathryn Taylor runs CanvasFactory which specialises in original artwork on canvas using acrylics and fabrics. The CanvasFactory portfolio ranges from large contemporary art pieces to small, ‘cute’ gifts providing a selection of unique presents and decorative items for the home.
24 October 2012 Digital Direction Phase 2 Opens for Business
Based on the success of the first phase, Digital Direction has won an extension to 31st March 2013. That means there will be more events, workshops, resources and opportunities for you to gain bespoke IT support.
There are also new elements to the programme. We have spent the past couple of months looking at what worked well and what needed improving.
24 October 2012 Digital Direction Showcase at MADE
MADE, the national festival of entrepreneurship, came to Sheffield again this September and Digital Direction was part of the programme, showing how IT and new media are part of the basic toolkit for building successful businesses.
Two clients who have both received bespoke IT support through the programme told their stories and ‘exposed’ the truth behind Digital Direction to a room full of interested parties who turned up early for the breakfast event at Creative Sheffield.

Since the programme launched, many local businesses have benefited from the free support on offer.
